In Oakland, a day long “general strike” progressed with the temporary closure of its seaport due to security purposes. It was reported approximately, 7,000 people marched from downtown to the transportation hub. Light lead into darkness and a riot ensued. Witnesses recall protestors throwing Molotov cocktails, breaking into empty buildings, crashing and spray painting windows, attacked moving vehicles, and setting fires.
This is the second time in a week, police with riot gear moved it to disperse the crowd with tear gas and rubber bullets.
